How it works...
Experiments are performed within the flight chamber to determine the terminal velocities of various sports balls and to examine flight patterns of non-uniform items.
We provide a brief lecture on physics and physical science topics relevant to the operation of the vertical wind tunnel and body flight and appropriate for the science level of your students.
Our tour of the facility takes the students inside the tunnel itself for an up close look at the science and engineering involved in its operation.
The program concludes with an opportunity for students to fly (or more accurately, fall at terminal velocity.)
